Hilda Moraa is an ambassador of African entrepreneurship. Her entrepreneurial passion and drive is ignited every day due to the failures and successes she faces in her daily work. In iHub Research, Hilda spearheads the in-house research study on ICT Hubs in Africa. She also formulates iHub Research’s capabilities, policies, processes and frameworks using the different projects as a basis. Her experience in market Research, management consulting, operations research in a fast-paced exposure environment has been invaluable in designing and management of research projects.
In addition to her research and entrepreneurship skills, Hilda has relevant experience in business development and approaches to developing technologies. She exercises this in Weza Tele Ltld, a solution provider company that focuses on developing mobile solutions using low-end technologies such as SMS, USSD and mobile-web to solve emerging problems in the mass market. Hilda is a co-founder of Weza Tele Ltd and one of the founding partners of Myorder, a hosted solution that puts a “mobile menu catalogue” in the hands of customers.
Hilda is passionate about entrepreneurial research and sharing entrepreneurial knowledge through her experiences to foster peer-to-peer learning and be a change agent by creating an impact in the world, starting with her own country. She is interested in mobile technology, m-commerce, Enterprise and platform solutions, User experience, Intellectual Property, governance and listening to other African entrepreneurs stories.
Ms. Hilda graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University and is currently undertaking her masters in Innovation & Entrepreneurship by Research at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She was the first lady to win a huge award from mobile boot camp in 2 consecutive years in 2010/2011.
In the past, Hilda has worked for global FMCGs beverage industry, Research firms as a consultant, Information Technology and ERP industries. She is a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certified and has worked as a network administrator at Strathmore University computer Labs.
